The real estate company, Wallenstams will build two residential buildings in Sundbyberg (a municipal division in Sweden which is nowadays fully swallowed in Stockholm). Houses are designed by Vera architectural firm and will be built by DMJ construction company. The two 16 storey buildings totally accommodate 180 apartments including 60 one-bedroom, 60 two-bedroom and 60 four-bedroom apartments as well as commercial spaces at ground floor. The sculptural volume of the buildings with its light concrete and sandblast aluminum façade is envisioned to create a lively and spectacular shadow play. Selling begins summer 2014 and residents will move in half a year later.
It is now being more promoted and advocated that the IPD approach (Integrated Project Delivery) shouldn't cease at the end of the construction phase. The term "Project", in this sense, also applies to commissioning and operation of the building calling for a more prominent role for the owner. All around the world, more and more real estate companies are actively participating in the building process since right in the beginning. Swedish real estate firms are no exception, rather are fairly active and progressive.
